Summary of October 2014

I can’t believe it’s November already! I remember when I was younger and time seemed to move so slowly. Half an hour for the news felt like a lifetime (it’s an hour now), now we’re just over a month out from Christmas and I’m wondering where the hell the past year has gone. Now that I’ve gotten out of the way, here’s how October has been:

This month last year:
October last year was settlement month and we moved into our apartment (I still find it somewhat surreal that we own an apartment) and I met my niece for the first time.

Entertained by:
Card’s against humanity (definitely the best/worst game ever), catching up with family and animals.

monthly summary

Purchased:
Many clothes from Mirrou (their leggings are the best I have ever owned, I’ve bought five pairs this month, their only $10, so it’s not that bad, right?), and a lot of home decorating magazines (we’re currently painting/fixing things around our apartment).

Watching:
Doctor Who and Russell Howard’s Good News (I’m so happy it’s back!). I love Peter Capaldi as the doctor, I wasn’t too sure with the first couple of episodes, but he has definitely grown on me.

Listening to:
Settle by Disclosure (the album is $10 on the New Zealand iTunes store at the moment).

Highlights:
We sent our Canadian immigration forms away for processing (I don’t talk about this much because I don’t want to jinx it. Now that our forms have been sent we’re waiting to see if our application made the quota and if they decide to proceed with it if we did. God I hate waiting, patience is not a virtue I am familiar with), painting our apartment and candy corn!

monthly update

Lowlights:
A fair few things. I know this is incredibly vague, but the things that have disappointed me/let me down this past month are things I don’t discuss on my blog.

Looking forward to:
Auckland in less than a week! We’ll be staying at The Langham (which I always love) and we’ll hopefully get to catch up with Jes for lunch/coffee.
