I don’t know what it is, I have gone from someone who really didn’t care too much about makeup, to someone who is ‘must buy ALL the things’, it’s become an addiction!
Anyway, it’s been a while since I last did a recent makeup purchases post, and I figured it was about time I did another one and shared my purchases with you. I’m sure that I have forgotten a few things; I’ve managed to get the $20 reward from the Farmer’s Beauty Club three times this year, and I’m hoping it’s because I bought things during the on double points days, and not because I’ve spent a crap tonne (although, I did buy a Clarisonic Mia 2, which hit the reward mark on its own).
Moisture Mist: Beauty Cake (I can’t remember the shade)
Bobbi Brown: Stick Foundation (in 4.75)
Bobbi Brown: Shimmer Brick (in copper diamond)
L’Orėal: True Match Blush (in rosy cheeks)
Rimmel: Provocolips (in 550 Play With Fire)
Australis: Go Long Longwear Lipstick (in glam)
Blush & Shimmer Brick Swatches
A few of weeks ago, I went to the Bobbi Brown counter at Kirkcaldie’s and bought a foundation stick and a shimmer brick; I had wanted both for a while and was going to get them when I’m in Auckland next, but was having a crappy day and bought them earlier. I’m so glad I did, the foundation stick is amazing (it’s probably the best foundation I’ve owned), and the shimmer brick looks great as a highlighter under the eye.
I got the True Match blush from Farmers, and loved it when I tested it on the back of my hand, but now that I’ve got it, it seems a lot pinker than I remember it being. I probably won’t wear it as much as I intended, and may end up giving it away.
I couldn’t get a swatch of the Moisture Mist Beauty Cake; it just wouldn’t show up. I’m really not a fan though, to be honest. It felt like I had to use quite a bit to get any sort of coverage and dried my skin out a little.
I bought both of these from Farmer’s and adore both colours (shoutout to Rochelle for suggesting deep reds as an autumnal colour). Both lipsticks are pigmented, opaque and incredibly long lasting. The only thing I dislike, is how tacky the Rimmel Provocolips is, but then again, I’ve never been a huge fan of lipgloss, so it’s probably just me.
I bought both these products because I was feeling a little low and needed a pick me up and I’m so happy I purchased these. I’ve been a little stressed/rundown and this stuff was exactly what my skin needed. I have been using the face mask every second day, and it leaves my skin feeling so soft. The eye cream is very soothing, and as much as I love my Kiehl’s creamy eye treatment, I think I prefer this. I also got a few Antipodes moisturiser samples, and I think when I’m out of my current moisturiser I’ll buy the full sized products (I have so many creams, I really don’t need another one, yet). What are your favourite recent beauty related purchases? Do you have a tried and true product that you think I should try?
