My Top 5 Christmas Movies

my top 5 christmas movies

One of my favourite things to do at Christmas, it to sit back and watch a movie at the end of the day. After stuffing myself stupid with lunch, there’s nothing better than curling  up and watching a movie, with that in mind I thought I’d share my top 5 christmas movies with you.

      1. The Holiday
This is probably my favourite Christmas movie ever; It’s  witty, somewhat relatable (I can definitely relate to how lovelorn and pathetic Iris is), and feel good in a cheesy way without making you want to throw up in your mouth (Phillip said it’s close to it – pffft).

I love this movie, and watch it any time of the year, especially when I’m sick and want to watch something that will make me laugh, but I don’t have to think too much about (which is great for when you’re kicking back nursing a food baby).

      2. Home Alone and Home Alone 2
Technically, this is two movies but they’re these are my favourite  Home Alone movies (I’m pretending the rest didn’t happen), and worth watching if you’re in the mood for some lowbrow slapstick comedy meant for children (sometimes, you just need it).

If you’re a fan of Home Alone 2, you’ll love this sweater.

      3. Kiss Kiss Bang Bang
The fact that this is set around is probably the only thing could make it a Christmas movie, but it’s going in the list anyway. This is probably one of my all time favourite movies, and worth a watch if you love crime-thrillers, dark humour and Robert Downey Jr. Stay away from this is you hate excessive swearing, because there is plenty of that in this movie.
      4. The Nightmare Before Christmas
While technically a Halloween movie, this has a lot of Christmassy elements to it.  The story is captivating, the animation is fantastic, and you can’t help but feel for Jack Skellington – he’s a bit over Halloween celebrations and wants something a little more lively – for lack of better words. This  movie is a must see for if you love Tim Burton, Halloween and Christmas.

      5. Die Hard
This is another movie that ‘s one the list because it’s set at Christmas (that makes it a Christmas movie, right).  This is great when I don’t feel like watching a cheesy (okay, it’s pretty cheesy) feel good movie, and want something a little more action packed.

If you love this movie, you’ll love this sweater.

What’s your favourite Christmas movie? Do you prefer to watch tradtional Christmas movies, or like me, movies that have a loose connection to Christmas?

Made my husband watch Home Alone for the first time (can’t believe he had never seen it – and he just said ‘meh’ will need to get him to watch Home Alone 2 :)
Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is awesome, need to buy it again on iTunes, because I can’t find my DVD copy and want to watch it again :)
