Hey guys! One of my goals is to post more regularly (here and on my youtube channel). To get back into the swing of things, I thought that today, I would let you know what’s going on in my life.
I promise to keep the filler posts to a minimum, and I have a few posts in the works, but I thought Taking Stock would be a nice way of easing back into things.
One thing I don’t think I mention in this post, is we’ve started apartment gardening it’s going surprisingly well. The kale in the picture above, was actually harvested from our balcony and used in a kale and brown rice salad (it was delicious by the way).
Making: the time to work on the blog and my youtube channel. I also need to set time to work on CS50x stuff. Sometimes, I feel there aren’t enough hours is the day. For those of you wondering, CS50x is an online computer science course I have started, I am hoping to finish it by June.
Cooking: I’ve been doing most of the cooking lately. One of my favourite things to make has been a Mexican street corn salad. It’s the perfect summer salad, and I’l definitely be posting a recipe soon.
Drinking: right now, I’m drinking sparking water. We got some more gas for our sodastream, and I’ve been going a little nuts. If anyone knows how to make the water fizzier, please let me know (I’m one of those weirdos who likes their drinks lounge numbing fizzy).
Reading: I haven’t read anything in a while, which is a little embarrassing. One of my goals this year is to read more, and there are a few books I need to finish; I should probably get started (or finished) on those.
Wanting: to go strawberry picking before the season is up.
Looking: at recipe blogs, I know it’s super geeky, but I have been meal planning lately, and I might’ve gotten a little obsessive about it (I’l be blogging about my experiences, don’t you worry).
Playing: God of War III, we downloaded it a while ago, and I can’t stop playing.
Wishing: for some overseas travel this year. Mum should be graduating this year, which means a trip to Canberra for her graduation, and we’re also hoping to go visit Phillip’s parents in Canberra later in the year. Fingers crossed everything works out
Enjoying: VlogafterCollege’s youtube channel. I randomly stumbled across Ryen’s channel and have been hooked ever since. I really can’t get enough of Gatsby; isn’t he the most adorable dog?!
Waiting: for out IKEA Kallax storage unit to arrive. We don’t have IKEA in New Zealand, but we found a parallel importer and have bought quite a bit of stuff.
Liking: the quality of IKEA furniture; I was pretty impressed.
Wondering: how much wood could a woodchuck chuck, if a woodchuck could chuck wood. Seriously though, I’m wondering what we’ll be doing for my birthday this year.I’m not holding out for much this year though, as most of our money has gone toward moving and we’re hoping to travel this year.
Loving: living in Auckland, as much as I love Wellington, I really needed a change of scenery. I am so much happier since moving. It’s definitely been good for the soul.
Pondering: which ColourPop! products I’ll purchase next. I actually have a HUGE list of things I want to buy saved in Notes. I’ll definitely have to cull a few items from the list because it’s a little excessive.
Buying: lots of stuff for our new apartment. The apartment we originally moved into was furnished, this place however is not, and it has meant having to repurchase just about everything
Watching: I haven’t been watching much lately, but Santa Clarita Diet is coming out on Netflix, and it looks pretty good.
Hoping: for some overseas travel and ocean swims this year. You bet that if we end up visiting Phillip’s parents in the Caribbean that I’ll be getting a GoPro, so I can capture our adventures for the vlog.
Marvelling: at people who can set time aside for side projects and/or work from home and stay motivated and kick ass (actually, anyone who stays motivated in general. Self motivation is not one of my strong points).
Cringing: The PMs Radio New Zealand interview. I wanted to crawl under the table and die, it was bad.
Needing: new clothes. Seriously, why does everything fall apart at the same time?!
Smelling: not a lot right now, my nose is blocked
Wearing: lots of summer clothes, because holy shit it’s hot and muggy in Auckland.
Following: US politics, what a shit show that has been.
Knowing: things will get better and that things could always be a lot worse.
Admiring: the same types of people I marvel at. I wish I were able to maintain those levels of motivation/the drive to keep at something.
Sorting: through our stuff and working out what we can keep, throw out, give away. This has been an ongoing theme in our moving journey, but shit we have a lot of stuff.
Bookmarking: Lots of recipe blogs. They help with meal planning when I’mn running low on meal ideas.
Feeling: kind bad about myself body-wise. One of my goals this year however, is to get healthy and to learn to love the skin I’m in. It can be kind of hard at times.
Helping: Phillip put together IKEA furniture.
So, that’s what’s currently going down in my life; I hope you enjoyed this post; if you would like to Take Stock also, the blank questions can be found on Pip’s blog here.
