We were in Dunedin over the weekend for a friend’s wedding; had never really been to the South Island before and was really excited about seeing more of the country.
I’m not going to lie though, I was kind of expecting not to like Dunedin; a friend had hated it, and I was scared that I would too. It’s safe to say I was pleasantly surprised; I had a great time and really want to go back for another visit soon (We’ll be in Queenstown in March, and I keep asking Phillip if we’ll be able to make a stop over in Dunedin; despite it not being anywhere we’ve planned to go)
While we were in Dunedin, we did a bit of shopping, went to Toitū, the Otago Museum, the esplanade and Larnach Castle (this is where the wedding was, and holy shit, it’s stunning – I told Phillip that if we ever had a ‘proper’ wedding, this is where we would have it).
I wanted to share some of my favourite photos from our time away with you (there’s also some vlogs from our trip at the end of this post, just in case you wanna watch them) Continue reading →
Yesterday Phillip and I took a trip to the zoo; were supposed to go on New Year’s day but both ended up with the flu and spent most of last week either in bed, or feeling to gross to do much.
I am such a kid when it comes to visiting the zoo; Wellington zoo have a section called ‘Neighbours’ which is Australian walkthrough precinct, where a lot of animals kind of roam free. There was a kangaroo chilling out, and I kept wondering if I could pat it (I didn’t, I did however get to pat an emu, and it made my day).
I took a few photos while were there, and wanted to share my favourite ones with you (there’s a video at the end of the post which includes the aforementioned emu patting, if you would like to watch it) . Continue reading →
Phillip and I spent the weekend in Auckland. It was a pretty awesome trip – our friends Jes and Peter got married (congratulations you guys!), I got to meet a long-time internet friend for the first time (hi Wendy!) and I ticked of a few things I have wanted to do in Auckland for a while but have never gotten around to doing (for some reason, despite going to Auckland many times with Phillip, we’d never been to The Domain).
I thought I’d share a few of my favourite photos from the weekend with you; I didn’t take any photos at the wedding (I’m never sure if you’re allowed to take photos at weddings) so decided not to, but it was definitely my favourite part of our weekend away. Continue reading →
I was getting serious cabin fever, so this afternoon we went for a walk to get lunch and before heading down to the waterfront (today, was the only day aside from my doctor’s appointment on Thursday that I had been out of the house all week, being sick sucks). Continue reading →
