We spent Good Friday at the in-laws, and on our way home on Saturday afternoon stopped at a couple of road-side fruit stores. At one of the fruit stores, they were selling feijoas by the kilo for about $3, feijoas are on of my favourite fruits, so as soon as I saw them, I had to buy a bag.
When I got home, I put them into a fruit bowls and then realised that I had a KILO feijoas, and I didn’t know what to do with them – Phillip doesn’t like them, and I wasn’t sure if I could eat a kilo before they went off (I could try I guess).
Luckily we also bought a couple of bags of apples at one of the stores, so I decided to make an apple and feijoa crumble. Continue reading →

I decided to try the soufflé partly because I wanted to make something ‘difficult’ and partly because I think Soufflé Girl is amazing* (actually, it was mainly because of Soufflé Girl) .
I had never had crème caramel, so when it was posted on the sorted website (have I mentioned how much I love those guys?) I had to give it a go. This was my first attempt, and I think it turned out pretty well (it was my second attempt at the caramel – I over boiled/burnt it the first time around*), not only does it look pretty, it tasted great too.
