I know, I know; I’m posting this a day late (again), but I just couldn’t be assed doing this yesterday. After working my first Sunday shift in a while, all I wanted do when I got home was crash and watch Sherlock (which by the way is fucking brilliant).

My boyfriend and I spent New Year’s Eve at his parent’s house in Featherston, and while we there his parents gave us our Christmas presents, mine was a book called ‘A Home Companion – My Year living like my grandmother’ by Wendy Nissen.
The book details Wendyl’s year-long journey towards self-sufficiency and contains recipes for everything from lip balm to cheese to spray cleaners. While we were away, I read the book cover to cover at least three times and vowed to make (just about) everything in the book (much to my boyfriend’s dismay – apparently it’s a waste of time and money).
