At the Brunch Club Christmas gathering, we were given goodie bags, in those bags we each got a bag of Sweet As Popcorn. I was fairy tipsy by the time I got home, and so I munched back half the bag before I went to bed and then ate the other half when I woke up. slightly hungover in the morning.

Travelling with dietary requirements can be a pain in the ass, even finding places you can eat before you get there can be a huge fucking mission sometimes. For our trip to Dunedin, I started looking for possible places we could eat about a few weeks in advance, and it wasn’t looking promising. One of the suggestions was for a place in Takaka, Golden Bay – how is that even close?! (for those not from New Zealand, it’s about a 10 hour drive from where we were staying)
We landed in Dunedin a bit after lunch and decided to go for a walk to see if we could find a place that had something gluten-free on the menu (turns out a lot of places actually, I was surprised); one of the places we found was a café called Modaks Espresso. Continue reading →
