We’ve had some pretty stellar weather lately, and so, I’ve been making the conscious effort to get outside and enjoy the city I’m in. I’ve blogged about my wanderlust before, and while i’m itching to get out of Wellington, I should at least try to make the most of the city I’m in, and as Stephen Stills sang “If you can’t be with the one you love, love the one you’re with”
Recently, I took a walk along the waterfront and I thought that I’d share some of my favourite photos with you (there is also a video at the end of the post). Continue reading →
It was Guy Fawkes Day on Thursday, and on Saturday the Wellington City Council put on their annual Sky Show Fireworks display*
Phillip and I headed down an hour early so we could get a decent spot. This year, we sat on the City to Sea Bridge; I think we ended up with a pretty good view. The only downside was that it was freezing; I really should have taken a jacket, I spent good deal of time bemoaning the fact I should have brought a coat with me. In the end, the show was kind of worth freezing my ass off for and I had a great time.
Those who know me, know I have a serious case of wanderlust. It’s not that I don’t love Wellington, it’s just that sometimes, I’m kind of over it. I’ve been here too long I guess, and so a lot of the time, it feels small, like everyone knows everyone else and as if I’ve done everything before.
For dinner last night, Phillip and I had Fish and Chips; we had been meaning to go to The Chippery in Thorndon for a while, but never got around to it (I work a few blocks away and was going to shout us dinner on Friday night after work, but ended up getting sick and spending most of the week in bed, I was pretty gutted).
So, after cleaning the house, we put an online order through to the Thorndon store, and then headed to New World to do some grocery shopping before picking collecting our order (you can choose the time you want to collect your order, so we weren’t rushing around; we were about 10 minutes early). Last Sunday, I sent to my first #BrunchClub brunch. I’m not going to lie; I was nervous as hell – meeting new people and engaging in small talk is not one of my strengths. Seeing as this year is all about doing more things that scare me, I decided I needed to go at least one brunch; I’m glad I did, because I had a great time and got to meet some awesome Wellington based bloggers.
